Torrance loves to wash dishes, he even washes the items that go into the recycle bin. He is happy and is quick to do any job that is requested by another staff member. You will often find him in the kitchen where he always chops broccoli - just the right way. Should a light go out – he sounds the alert, so all of our stores stay well-lit all the time.
You will never find Torrance without his cheerful smile!

Jay always goes above and beyond at Bliss Gallery when hanging new pieces of art and helping us prepare for a new show and he is always there helping with taking them down. He is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Named in honor and memory of Holy Angels' first resident for her spirit of love, perseverance and can-do attitude.
Jasmine is great at sharing her enthusiasm joyful attitude and fun loving spirit with residents and staff alike. She is a great cheerleader especially during DSP week.
She is known to go above and beyond daily for the residents. She is an advocate for the residents. Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, you never see her without a smile. New staff members have a good mentor in Jasmine, who helps them to better be of service with the residents.
Beth Withers “Make A Difference” Award | Amanda Summey, RN
Named in memory of a member of the nursing staff who had an unbounded spirit of generosity.
Amanda is known for her gentle, caring approach with our residents showing compassionate care with a positive attitude. She has assisted our residents by being an advocate at off campus appointments, helping with the many onsite clinics and serving the needs of our community group home residents. She takes critical situations and nursing pressures in stride. She is conscientious and works to make sure that quality care is first and foremost. Her caring attitude is contagious to the new staff members she trains as well as to those she has worked alongside of for over nine years.

Becky is known for her positive attitude and sharing her smile with all she meets. She encourages staff and residents to do their very best. She displays great patience and kindness with our residents and provides them opportunities to achieve success whenever they are helping her. Becky will work wherever needed – laundry, kitchen and environmental services. For over 15 years, Becky has demonstrated excellence within her job and shared her compassionate heart.
NORCARR Virginia Franks Achievement of Excellence Award | Lynn Hill
For nearly 17 years, Lynn Hill has served as an LPTA, working with the residents at Holy Angels. Lynn has brought her fun loving spirit and enthusiasm to the staff and residents. Daily she exhibits her commitment to the mission and ministry of Holy Angels – serving the differently able. She has proven she is an exceptional team member – most recently agreeing to serve as a relief shift supervisor in order to fill a staffing need. With her positive attitude, she was a natural choice to serve as one of our key supervisors. Flexibility could be her middle name – she is always willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done. Lynn has continually shared with the staff hands-on training when it comes to providing the proper PT techniques when working with the residents – they all agree she is a good teacher. New staff are encouraged when she is their mentor – she is welcoming and serves as a role model for them. She brings out the best in each staff member with whom she works. The Holy Angels residents know they are in good hands when she is working with them, their health and well-being are at the center of her time with them. . .and, they know it will be time filled with fun when Lynn is working with them. We definitely have a priceless treasure in Lynn Hill.
NORCARR Ann Wolfe Award | Brenda Barker
Since February 11, 2003, Brenda has shared her love and compassionate care with the residents of Holy Angels. Beginning as a direct support professional, she immediately became an indispensable and exceptional team player – no matter what shift she has worked. She has served as the 3rd shift manager for our ICF/IIDD group homes, and a group home manager. For the past eight years she has served as a Health Care Tech. Whenever needed she will come in on her day off or stay longer – whatever is needed to assure each resident receives quality care. Her co-workers describe her as always positive and uplifting. Brenda is creative and finds new ways to work with the residents. She has great rapport with the staff and residents (who absolutely love her). She continually goes above and beyond her regular job description. Recognized as a caring, concerned and committed staff member – all agree she is a joy to work with – and know she will give her co-workers the support and help they need in their daily work schedule. Brenda Barker is truly one of Holy Angels treasures.
